Cloned Plates and Vehicle Pursuit.

On the evening of 25/09/26, Officers from the Rural Task Force located a vehicle acting suspiciously around building sites in the Egerton area. When the vehicle was requested to stop with blue lights and sirens, it made-off at speed.

During the pursuit, the offending vehicle made attempts to ram Officers, before the tyres were stung by Dog Section who tactically placed a stinger in an advanced position. Projectiles were fired from the vehicle before it crashed in Hothfield. 

One male was arrested after decamping from the vehicle, for offences of Going Equipped to Steal and Attempted Burglary. The vehicle was found to have a number of tools within and was using cloned registration plates, which was suggestive of its suspected intentions. The male now remains on Police Bail whilst our CID department continue their investigation. 

As a reminder, those that work on or live nearby to building sites, remain vigilant and make sure to report any suspicious sightings or activity to Police via 999, especially after hours.
